This gives the details about credits, number of hours and other details along with reference books for the course.<\/p>\n<p>The detailed syllabus for Machine Modeling and Analysis M.Tech 2017-2018 (R17) first year first sem is as follows.<\/p>\n<p>M.Tech. I Year I Sem.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prerequisites: Electrical Machines (DC and AC), control theory<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Course Objectives:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To comprehend the basic two-pole machine.<\/li>\n<li>To identify the methods and assumptions in modeling of machines.<\/li>\n<li>To write voltage and torque equations for different machines.<\/li>\n<li>To recognize the different frames for modeling of different AC machines.<\/li>\n<li>To express the voltage and torque equations in State space form<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Course Outcomes:<\/strong> Upon the completion of the course the student will be able to<\/p>\n<p>Write the voltage equation and torque equations for different machines like dc machine, induction motor and Synchronous machines.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Model different machines using phase and Active transformations.<\/li>\n<li>Identify the different reference frames for modeling of machines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Unit-I:<\/strong> Basic Two-pole DC machine &#8211; primitive 2-axis machine \u2013 Voltage and Current relationship \u2013 Torque equation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Unit-II:<\/strong> Mathematical model of separately excited DC motor and DC Series motor in state variable form \u2013 Transfer function of the motor &#8211; Numerical problems. Mathematical model of D.C. shunt motor D.C. Compound motor in state variable form \u2013 Transfer function of the motor &#8211; Numerical Problems<\/p>\n<p><strong>Unit-III:\u00a0<\/strong>Liner transformation \u2013 Phase transformation (a, b, c to \u03b1, \u03b2, o) \u2013 Active transformation (\u03b1 .\u03b2, o to d, q).<br \/>\nCircuit model of a 3 phase Induction motor \u2013 Linear transformation &#8211; Phase Transformation \u2013 Transformation to a Reference frame \u2013 Two axis models for induction motor. dq model based DOL starting of Induction Motors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Unit-IV:<\/strong> Voltage and current Equations in stator reference frame \u2013 equation in Rotor reference frame \u2013 equations in a synchronously rotating frame \u2013 Torque equation &#8211; Equations I state \u2013 space form.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Unit-V:<\/strong> Circuits model of a 3ph Synchronous motor \u2013 Two axis representation of Syn. Motor.
