The detailed syllabus for Biostatistics and Research Methodology M.Pharm 2017-2018 (R17) first year second sem is as follows.<\/em><\/p>\n

M.Pharm<\/em>. I Year II Sem.<\/p>\n

Course Objective:<\/strong> The student shall know the introduction, scope of biostatistics and Research work, calculation and present of the data. It also informs the students, how the present research work writing and correlating.<\/p>\n

Course Outcome<\/strong>: The student will be known the Biostatistics arrangement, presentation and formation of tables and charts. They also know the correlation and regression & application of different methods, analysis of data and also learn how to write dissertation, thesis and Research paper.<\/p>\n

UNIT I : Introduction and scope of biostatistics:<\/strong> Use of statistics in Pharmacy. Population and Sample collection. Stages of research, types of data and methods of data collections. Data arrangement and presentation, formation of table and charts.<\/p>\n

UNIT II : Measures of central tendency:<\/strong> computation of means, median and mode from grouped and ungrouped data. Measure of dispersion: computation of variance, standard deviation, standard error and their
\ncoefficients.<\/p>\n

UNIT III : Measures of Correlation and Regression:<\/strong> Experimental designing, planning of an experiment,
\nreplication and randomization. Probit analysis. Probability rules: Binomial, Poison and Normal distribution. Hypothesis testing: Student\u2018t\u2019 test, Chi square test, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA): 1-way, 2-way, 3- ways<\/p>\n

UNIT IV : Developing a research question, Resources for research question,<\/strong>
\nLiterature Review: Traditional Qualitative Review,
\nMeta-Analysis\u2014A Quantitative Review
\nPreparation of Research Proposal
\nVariables\u2014Definition of Variable, Types of variables (Dependent and Independent variables,
\nConfounded variables), Measurement of variables, Types of measurement scales and their
\ncomparison. Reliability and Validity of Measurements.<\/p>\n
