III Year II Sem. \u00a0 L\/T\/P\/C<br \/>\nCourse Code:NT623OE \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 3\/0\/0\/3<br \/>\n<strong>Pre-requisites:<\/strong> Basic principles of Kinematics and mechanics<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Objectives:<\/strong> The goal of the course is to familiarize the students with the concepts\u00a0and techniques in robotic engineering, manipulator kinematics, dynamics and control, chose,\u00a0and incorporate robotic technology in engineering systems.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make the students acquainted with the theoretical aspects of Robotics<\/li>\n<li>Enable the students to acquire practical experience in the field of Robotics through\u00a0design projects and case studies.<\/li>\n<li>Make the students to understand the importance of robots in various fields of\u00a0engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Expose the students to various robots and their operational details.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Course Outcomes:<\/strong> At the end of the course, the student will be able to understand the basic\u00a0components of robots. Differentiate types of robots and robot grippers. Model forward and\u00a0inverse kinematics of robot manipulators. Analyze forces in links and joints of a robot.\u00a0Programme a robot to perform tasks in industrial applications. Components,\u00a0Architecture, number of degrees of freedom \u2013 Requirements and challenges of end effectors,\u00a0Design of end effectors, Precision of Movement: Resolution, Accuracy and Repeatability,\u00a0Speed of Response and Load Carrying Capacity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNIT \u2013 II:\u00a0Motion Analysis:<\/strong> Basic Rotation Matrices, Equivalent Axis and Angle, Euler Angles,<br \/>\nComposite Rotation Matrices.
