This gives the details about credits, number of hours and other details along with reference books for the course.<\/p>\n<p>The detailed syllabus for CADD and MATLAB B.Tech 2016-2017 (R16) third year second sem is as follows.<\/p>\n<p>B.Tech. III Year II Sem. \u00a0 L\/T\/P\/C<br \/>\nCourse Code:ME605PC \u00a0 \u00a0 0\/0\/3\/2<br \/>\n<strong>Pre-Requisites:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Familiarity with a programming language (Matlab or BASIC).<\/li>\n<li>Elementary ordinary differential equations.<\/li>\n<li>Elementary linear algebra.<\/li>\n<li>Basic principles of descriptive geometry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Course Objectives:<\/strong> The objectives are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to acquaint the student with some of the terminology in this very new field and relate\u00a0it to the basic engineering process of design,<\/li>\n<li>to provide an introduction to the basic analytical fundamentals that are used to create\u00a0and manipulate geometric models in a computer program,<\/li>\n<li>to introduce the student to full-scale CAD software systems designed for geometric\u00a0modeling of engineering components and systems (attention will be directed at both\u00a0drafting and full 3-D modeling systems),<\/li>\n<li>to provide experience in using the CAD tools to develop a simple project of\u00a0reasonable complexity, and<\/li>\n<li>to provide a brief survey of methods for integrating these tools into a comprehensive\u00a0design system that incorporates advanced database management concepts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Course Outcomes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students should be able to apply computer methods for solving a wide range of<br \/>\nengineering problems.<\/li>\n<li>Students should be able to use computer engineering software to solve and present\u00a0problem solutions in a technical format.<\/li>\n<li>Students should be able to utilize computer skills to enhance learning and<br \/>\nperformance in other engineering and science courses.<\/li>\n<li>And finally, students should be able to demonstrate professionalism in interactions\u00a0with Colleagues, faculty, and staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0CADD LAB<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> (Perform Any Six Exercises from Each Laboratory)<\/strong><br \/>\nList of exercises Using Software Capable of Drafting and Modeling<\/p>\n<p>Study of capabilities of software for Drafting and Modeling \u2013 Coordinate systems<br \/>\n(absolute, relative, polar, etc.) \u2013 Creation of simple figures like polygon and general<br \/>\nmulti-line figures.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Study of script, DXE &amp; IGES Files.<\/li>\n<li>Drawing of a Title Block with necessary text and projection symbol.<\/li>\n<li>Drawing of curves like parabola, spiral, involute using B spline or cubic spline.<\/li>\n<li>Creations of Shafts, rounds, Chamfers and slots<\/li>\n<li>Representation of dimensioning and tolerances scanning and plotting.<\/li>\n<li>Drawing of front view and top view of simple solids like prism, pyramid, cylinder, cone,\u00a0etc, and dimensioning.<\/li>\n<li>Drawing sectional views of prism, pyramid, cylinder, cone, etc,<\/li>\n<li>Drawing of front view and top view and side view of objects for the given pictorial<br \/>\nviews (eg.
