III Year I Sem. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 L\/T\/P\/C<br \/>\nCourse Code: MT507PC \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 0\/0\/3\/2<br \/>\nPre-requisite: Thermodynamics<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Objectives<\/strong>: To enable the student to apply conduction, convection and radiation heat\u00a0transfer concepts to practical applications<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Outcome:<\/strong> At the end of the lab sessions, the student will be able to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform steady state conduction experiments to estimate thermal conductivity of\u00a0different materials<\/li>\n<li>Perform transient heat conduction experiment<\/li>\n<li>Estimate heat transfer coefficients in forced convection, free convection ,\u00a0condensation and correlate with theoretical values<\/li>\n<li>Obtain variation of temperature along the length of the pin fin under forced and free\u00a0convection<\/li>\n<li>Perform radiation experiments: Determine surface emissivity of a test plate and\u00a0Stefan- Boltzmann\u2019s constant and compare with theoretical value<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum twelve experiments from the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Composite Slab Apparatus \u2013 Overall heat transfer co-efficient.<\/li>\n<li>Heat transfer through lagged pipe.<\/li>\n<li>Heat Transfer through a Concentric Sphere<\/li>\n<li>Thermal Conductivity of given metal rod.<\/li>\n<li>Heat transfer in pin-fin<\/li>\n<li>Experiment on Transient Heat Conduction<\/li>\n<li>Heat transfer in forced convection apparatus.<\/li>\n<li>Heat transfer in natural convection<\/li>\n<li>Parallel and counter flow heat exchanger.<\/li>\n<li>Emissivity apparatus.<\/li>\n<li>Stefan Boltzman Apparatus.<\/li>\n<li>Critical Heat flux apparatus.<\/li>\n<li>Study of heat pipe and its demonstration.<\/li>\n<li>Film and Drop wise condensation apparatus<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=ini.istudy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Download iStudy Android App for complete JNTUH syllabus, results, timetables and all other updates.
