Course Objective<\/strong> Course Outcome:<\/strong> end of the course student is in a position to, know how to approach the\u00a0problem of choosing an alloy for a particular application and know how to approach the\u00a0design of a heat treatment for an alloy for a particular application.<\/p>\n UNIT-I \u00a0<\/strong>Annealing, Normalizing, Hardening, Mechanism of heat removal during quenching,\u00a0quenching media, sixe and mass effect, Tempering and its stages<\/p>\n UNIT-II\u00a0<\/strong>Time Temperature Transformation (TTT) and CCT Curves, effect of cooling on\u00a0transformation of Austenitic, perarlitic, bainite, and martensite.<\/p>\n UNIT-III<\/strong>\u00a0Effect of alloying elements on Fe-C system and TTT curves, Hardenability of Steels, Factors\u00a0affecting and its determination<\/p>\n
