L\/T\/P\/C<br \/>\nCourse Code: EE306ES 0\/0\/3\/2<br \/>\nPrerequisite: Electrical Machines-I<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Objectives:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To expose the students to the operation of DC Generator<\/li>\n<li>To expose the students to the operation of DC Motor.<\/li>\n<li>To examine the self excitation in DC generators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Course Outcomes:<\/strong> After completion of this lab the student is able to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Start and control the Different DC Machines.<\/li>\n<li>Assess the performance of different machines using different testing methods<\/li>\n<li>Identify different conditions required to be satisfied for self &#8211; excitation of DC\u00a0Generators.<\/li>\n<li>Separate iron losses of DC machines into different components<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The following experiments are required to be conducted compulsory experiments:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Magnetization characteristics of DC shunt generator. Determination of critical field\u00a0resistance and critical speed.<\/li>\n<li>Load test on DC shunt generator. Determination of characteristics.<\/li>\n<li>Load test on DC series generator. Determination of characteristics.<\/li>\n<li>Load test on DC compound generator. Determination of characteristics.<\/li>\n<li>Hopkinson\u2019s test on DC shunt machines.
