II Year II Sem. \u00a0L\/T\/P\/C<br \/>\nCourse Code: EE406ES \u00a00\/0\/3\/2<br \/>\nPrerequisite: Control Systems<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Objectives:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To understand the different ways of system representations such as Transfer function\u00a0representation and state space representations and to assess the system dynamic\u00a0response<\/li>\n<li>To assess the system performance using time domain analysis and methods for\u00a0improving it<\/li>\n<li>To assess the system performance using frequency domain analysis and techniques for\u00a0improving the performance<\/li>\n<li>To design various controllers and compensators to improve system performance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Course Outcomes<\/strong>: After completion of this lab the student is able to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How to improve the system performance by selecting a suitable controller and\/or a\u00a0compensator for a specific application<\/li>\n<li>Apply various time domain and frequency domain techniques to assess the system\u00a0performance<\/li>\n<li>Apply various control strategies to different applications(example: Power systems,\u00a0electrical drives etc)<\/li>\n<li>Test system controllability and observability using state space representation and\u00a0applications of state space representation to various systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The following experiments are required to be conducted compulsory experiments:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Time response of Second order system<\/li>\n<li>Characteristics of Synchros<\/li>\n<li>Programmable logic controller \u2013 Study and verification of truth tables of logic gates,\u00a0simple Boolean expressions, and application of speed control of motor.<\/li>\n<li>Effect of feedback on DC servo motor<\/li>\n<li>Transfer function of DC motor<\/li>\n<li>Transfer function of DC generator<\/li>\n<li>Temperature controller using PID<\/li>\n<li>Characteristics of AC servo motor<br \/>\nIn addition to the above eight experiments, at least any two of the experiments from the\u00a0following list are required to be conducted<\/li>\n<li>Effect of P, PD, PI, PID Controller on a second order systems<\/li>\n<li>Lag and lead compensation \u2013 Magnitude and phase plot<\/li>\n<li>(a) Simulation of P, PI, PID Controller.<br \/>\nb) Linear system analysis (Time domain analysis, Error analysis) using suitable\u00a0software<\/li>\n<li>Stability analysis (Bode, Root Locus, Nyquist) of Linear Time Invariant system using\u00a0suitable software<\/li>\n<li>State space model for classical transfer function using suitable software -Verification.<\/li>\n<li>Design of Lead-Lag compensator for the given system and with specification using\u00a0suitable software<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=ini.istudy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Download iStudy Android App for complete JNTUH syllabus, results, timetables and all other updates.
