II Year II Sem. \u00a0 \u00a0 L\/T\/P\/C<br \/>\nCourse Code: ME406ES 0\/0\/3\/2<\/p>\n<p>Prerequisites for the graduate-level course are Kinematics, Dynamics, differential equations,\u00a0motion simulation, displacement, velocity, acceleration, force, torque, power, Newton\u2019s\u00a0motion laws, vibration, Gyroscopic Effect, Cams, Bearings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Objectives<\/strong>:\u00a0The objective of the lab is to understand the kinematics and dynamics of mechanical elements\u00a0such as linkages, gears, cams and learn to design such elements to accomplish desired\u00a0motions or tasks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Outcomes<\/strong>: Upon successful completion of this lab, students should be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understand types of motion<\/li>\n<li>Analyze forces and torques of components in linkages<\/li>\n<li>Understand static and dynamic balance<\/li>\n<li>Understand forward and inverse kinematics of open-loop mechanisms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experiments:<\/strong> (A Minimum of 10 experiments are to be conducted)<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>To determine the state of balance of machines for primary and secondary forces<\/li>\n<li>To determine the frequency of torsional vibration of a given rod<\/li>\n<li>Determine the effect of varying mass on the centre of sleeve in porter and proell\u00a0governor<\/li>\n<li>Find the motion of the follower if the given profile of the cam<\/li>\n<li>The balance masses statically and dynamically for single rotating mass systems<\/li>\n<li>Determine the critical speed of a given shaft for different n-conditions<\/li>\n<li>For a simple pendulum determine time period and its natural frequency<\/li>\n<li>For a compound pendulum determine time period and its natural frequency<\/li>\n<li>Determine the effect of gyroscope for different motions<\/li>\n<li>Determine time period, amplitude and frequency of undamped free longitudinal\u00a0vibration of single degree spring mass systems.<\/li>\n<li>Determine the pressure distribution of lubricating oil at various load and speed of a\u00a0Journal bearing.<\/li>\n<li>Determine time period, amplitude and frequency of damped free longitudinal\u00a0vibration of single degree spring mass systems<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=ini.istudy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Download iStudy Android App for complete JNTUH syllabus, results, timetables and all other updates.
