The concept of stress, strain, elasticity etc. as applied to various structures under loading are included.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Outcome:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe student would be exposed to basic mechanical engineering machinery.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNIT-I Stresses and strains:<\/strong><br \/>\nkinds of \u2013 stress-strains, elasticity and plasticity, Hooks law, stress \u2013 strain diagrams, modules of elasticity, Poisson\u2019s ratio, linear and volumetric strain, relation between E, N, and K, bars of uniform strength, compound bars and temperature stresses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNIT-II Types of supports \u2013<\/strong><br \/>\nloads \u2013 Shear force and bending moment for cantilever and simply supported beams without overhanging for all types of loads.
