This gives the details about credits, number of hours and other details along with reference books for the course.<\/p>\n<p>The detailed syllabus for Pharmacotherapeutics-I M.Pharm 2017-2018 (R17) first year first sem is as follows.<\/p>\n<p>M.Pharm. I Year I Sem<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Objective:\u00a0<\/strong>This course aims to enable the students to understand the different treatment approaches in managing various disease conditions. Also, it imparts knowledge and skills in optimizing drug therapy of a patient by individualizing the treatment plan through evidence-based medicines.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Outcome:<\/strong> Upon completion of this course it is expected that students shall be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Describe and explain the rationale for drug therapy<\/li>\n<li>Summarize the therapeutic approach for management of various disease conditions including reference to the latest available evidence<\/li>\n<li>Discuss the clinical controversies in drug therapy and evidence based medicine<\/li>\n<li>Prepare individualized therapeutic plans based on diagnosis<\/li>\n<li>Identify the patient specific parameters relevant in initiating drug therapy, and monitoring therapy (including alternatives, time- course of clinical and laboratory indices of therapeutic response and adverse effect\/s) Etiopathogenesis and pharmacotherapy of diseases associated with following systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>UNIT- I : Cardiovascular system:<\/strong> Hypertension, Congestive cardiac failure, Acute coronary syndrome, Arrhythmias, Hyperlipidemias.
