JNTUH B.Tech 4th Year 1 Semester Petroleum Engineering R13 gives you complete info of Petroleum Engineering R13 Course Structure.
Petroleum engineering is a field of engineering concerned with the activities related to the production of hydrocarbons, which can be either crude oil or natural gas. Exploration and Production are deemed to fall within the upstream sector of the oil and gas industry.
The study of petroleum engineering can be broadly divided into two sectors:
1. The Upstream Sector, deals with the exploration, production and exploitation of hydrocarbons (Petroleum and Natural gas).
2. The Downstream Sector, deals with refining, marketing distribution.
Career prospects are quite attractive in petroleum sector as petroleum
companies have great influence and offer attractive salaries to employees. The demand for petroleum and petroleum products is only expected to increase and the increase would lead to creation of new jobs. In fact, there is great demand of efficient petroleum engineers and almost every young graduate in petroleum engineering gets a job offer from petrol and gas companies from India and overseas.
