Course Outcome:

Unit 1 – Adhesives

Principles of adhesion – definition, theory of adhesion, factors affecting strength of bond (setting time, open time, tack). Adhesive systems – Aqueous, solvent, emulsion, pressure sensitive, heat sensitive -Classification of adhesives – animal, vegetable, mineral, inorganic, organic – their origin, nature, general properties, advantages & disadvantages, applications & uses.
