On successful completion of the course the student will be able to :
- CO1 Assort the raw hides and skins into different grades and select suitable raw material for making required type of leather 5 P1,P2
- CO2 List and explain the manufacture of different chrome tanned leathers 15 P2, P3
- CO3 Explain the processing of E.I Leathers from different raw material 8 P2,P3,P4
- CO4 Explain the dressing of E.I Leathers into different types of leathers 12 P2,P3
- CO5 Explain the manufacture of chamois, hair on tanned and shrunken grain leathers 10 P1,P2 ,P6
- CO6 Make use of different chrome tanned and E.I Leathers like upper leathers, garment leathers, lining leathers e.t.c 10 P2,P6,P10
Unit -I : Assortment: Duration: 05 Periods (L: 05 – T:0)
The assortment of leathers – the need – the defects observed selection of skins for particular type of leather -size and defects.
Unit – II : Chrome Leathers: Duration: 15 Periods (L:10 – T:5)

Unit – III : EI Leathers: Duration: 8 Periods (L: 08 – T:0)
The purpose of making E.I. tanning – the processing of E.I tanned leather from W/S sheep, goatskins, buffalo, cow calf and reptile skins manufacturing of E.I. leather from pickled stocks.
Unit – IV : Dressing of EI Leathers: Duration: 7 Periods (L: 7 – T:5)
The purpose of dressing E.I. leathers and operations involved in dressing of E.I. leathers and making of different types of leathers from E.I. skins for making upper, garments and book binding etc.
