- List the sequence of post tanning operations and explain the safety precaution methods while working in the lab..
- Determine the proportion of chemicals used in finishing and List the and classify the grading pattern
Unit 1: Chrome Tanning
- Prepare the chrome liquor.
- Tan the pickled stock.
- Basify the chrome.
- Check completion of chrome tanning by Boil Test.
- Determine the Shrinkage Temperature for hydrothermal stability.

Unit 3: Post Tanning Operations
- Sam and set the leathers for splitting and shaving.
- Split the sides to reduce thickness and get different layer.
- Shave the leather to reduce the leather to uniform thickness.
- Neutralise the chrome-tanned leather.
- Retan the leather using vegetable tan and chrome tanning material.
- Dye the leather.
