You can apply for ME/MTech at BESU under Self Sponsored Scheme or Sponsored ( if Sponsored – Min 2 years Experience from Sponsoring Company with Salary – At the time of application with Sponsoring Certificate from Company). Normally if there are no sponsored candidate a self sponsored candidate will be given a chance based on the merit in Written Test and Interview. So best of Luck

Finance Ministery, Central Government have already sanctioned Rs. 15 Crores in the year 2010 for Conversion of BESU into Indian Institute of Technology, Science and Engineering (IIEST), Kolkata which will be special Technology Institute exclusively for M.Tech./M.E./Integraded M.Tech/M.E. and Phd’s similiar to IISc, Bangalore.
From the past one Year this college is goinging IIT’s ways’ Thanks to Vice Chancellor Mr. Ajoy Kumar Ray (from IIT, Kharagpur and Aluminus of this College). College have setup Innovation and Ideas Institute one of its kind in India ( Centrally funded). Recently BESU have taken intiatives on Setting up Green Technology Park ( Centrally funded) inside the Institute Campus hence Institute is going Green. New Course like Medical Electronics and Aerospace Engg are also going to be introduced from This year.

The College have strong network with Research Institutes in India ( Central Institutes) and Abroad from 1900’s and have strong active Alumni Network. This Institute also is Mother of IIT’s and Second Oldest Engineering College in Asia, earlier only engineering college under calcutta university.

Specifically known for Non-IT Field like Civil/Structural/Geo Engg, Mechanical Engg, Mettallurgy Engg, Applied Mechanics, Mining , Architecture also Electrical Engg,Computer Science etc.
