  4. Describe the principles of washing ,denim washing and dry cleaning methods<\/li>\n
  5. Explain the types of finishes and various care labelling system<\/li>\n
  6. Describe the planning of storage of cloths and care of special textiles<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1.0. Equipments and Reagents<\/h4>\n

    Functions of scrubbing board, suction washer, dryers, drying racks – functions of dry cleaning pump, types of washing machines, irons, steam air garment finisher and foam finisher – functions of chemical reagents used in laundry – functions of alkaline reagents – ammonia, sodium carbonate(washing soda), sodium tetra borate(borax) – functions of acid reagents – acetic and oxalic acid – cleansing material , petro chemicals – preparation of soap solution and cleansing fluids\n<\/p>\n

    Term stain, general rules for stain removal – classification of stains – features of vegetable stains -coffee, tea, henna, haldi, beetle leaf, wine – Chocolate, ice cream, make – up and perfume -features of animal stains – egg, blood, perspiration – the features of mineral stains – ball point, ink, medicine, dye stains – features of grease stain – grease, butter, curry, oil, paint, varnish, rust Wax, chewing gum, shoe polish, scorch stains\n<\/p>\n

    4.0. Principles of Washing and Dry Cleaning<\/h4>\n

    Methods of washing – application of friction – hand friction or rubbing, special scrubbing by brush – Rubbing and scrubbing, application of light pressure – kneading and squeezing -application – Of suction washing – method of washing by washing machine (method) – water extractor, spin -extractor, wringer, washing process – methods of finishing – ironing, pressing, steaming, mangling and calendaring – objectives, advantages of garment washing – types, chemicals and characteristics of denim washing – objectives, procedure, stone selection, limitations and problem caused in stone washing -objectives, process of enzyme washing and sand blasting- Washing and finishing of organdie and velveteen – dry cleaning – grease absorbents and grease solvents -general rules for dry cleaning – dry cleaning process – immersion method, spot cleaning with grease – Solvents, absorption of grease by grease absorbents – sprinkled on dirt spot, application – Of paste method.\n<\/p>\n

    Define the term care labelling – aim \/ objectives \/ functions of finishes – process of mechanical finishes – beetling, calendaring, embossing, glazing, – Moiring, crepe effect, napping and tentering – process of chemical finishes – mercerization, crease resistant, creping – Special finishes – fire proof, flame retardant, water repellent, wash n wear, wrinkle Resistant and silk weighting -various systems of care labelling – national and international care labelling system – care symbols used for washing, bleaching, dry cleaning, ironing, instructions – placements of label on the garment\n<\/p>\n
