- Introduction and definition of engineering materials, mechanical properties, unit cell and space lattice, corrosion and causes of corrosion
- Composition and properties of cast iron, plain carbon steel, alloy steel, Non-ferrous metals and alloys, stoneware, carbon and graphite.
- Determination of tensile strength, compressive strength by UTM, hardness by brinell hardness test, Rockwell hardness test, impact test by izod and charpy test, detect internal defects by radiography and ultrasonic test, manufacturing method of pig iron by blast furnace, cast iron by cupola furnace, steel by Bessemer converter, LD converter, electric arc furnace.
- Applications of various destructive and non-destructive test, cast iron, plain carbon steel and alloy steel, non- ferrous metals and alloys, miscellaneous materials
