1.0 Terminology & Water Technology
Define the terms atom, atomic weight, kinetics, radical, base, catalyst- Define the terms corrosion, environment, lithosphere, and hydrosphere- Define the terms biosphere, atmosphere, bio-diversity, biomass, and biome- Define the terms biotic, ecosystem, habitat, mulch, and ecology- classification of water- importance of water used in chemical processing- Define the terms hard water & soft water- causes of temporary hardness & permanent hardness of water – disadvantages of hard water used in industry-EDTA method for determination of hardness of water- lime soda process (hot & cold) of removing hardness from water- zeolite process of removing hardness from water
