1. Resistors:

Classification of resistors, colour code, Specifications, Carbon film metal film, wire wound resistors. Constructional details of carbon and wire wound Potentiometers – tapering. Effect of temperature on resistance. Faults in resistors.

3. Inductors:

Self Inductance, mutual inductance, coefficient of coupling, A.F. and R.F. chokes.

4. Switches, Connectors and Relays:

Different types of switches and connectors used inElectronic circuits and their specifications. Fuses. Types of relays-Relay contacts -Electromagnetic Relay.

5. Microphones and Loudspeakers:

7. Transistors:

Working of PNP and NPN transistors. Transistor configurations- CB,CE and CC, Input and Output characteristics, a, P, and y factors, Relation between a, P, and Y- Comparisons of CB,CE and CC configurations.

8. Power Supplies and Batteries:

Need of DC power supply, Rectifiers- Half wave rectifier, full wave rectifier, bridge rectifier, RMS value, DC value, Ripple factor and Efficiency, voltage regulation. Filters – C, LC, and CLC filters. Simple Zener regulator, Batteries-storage batteries.

9. Pcbs:
