Course Outcomes:

  1. Understand the importance of Architecture
  2. Use of drawing instruments to draw horizontal and vertical lines, line weights, dimensioning, freehand lettering and graphic symbols to represent various building elements.
  3. Understand colour and colour schemes.
  4. sketch human figures, trees and plants, etc., in freehand in order to apply in presentation drawings
  5. Understand design principles to create compositions of geometrical and non-geometrical objects.
  6. Explain scales to know how to measure an object or room and draw to scale.
  7. Explain plan, elevation and section in order to create a small design of a building

1. Use of Drawing Instruments:

  1. Drawing exercise on drawing vertical lines with set squares.
  2. Drawing exercise on drawing parallel lines with t-square.

3. Conventional Signs:

  1. Conventional signs of Building materials, Doors and Windows
  2. Conventional signs of Electrical and Plumbing.

4. Colour

  1. Colour wheel showing primary, secondary and tertiary colours.

7. Scale and Measure Drawings:

  1. Sketching the plan, elevation and section of objects and taking note of the measurements of chair and table with measuring tape and drawing the same to scale in plan and section.
  2. Drawing to scale the plan, section of a classroom.
  3. Drawing to scale the plan, section and elevation of a pedestal.

8. Building Drawings and Design

  1. Drawing a given one bed room residence in plan, elevation and sections with complete dimensions.
