\nIntroduction of packaging – classification of packaging – packaging essential requirements functions of packaging – importance \/ significance of pharma packaging – main packaging materials – ideal package material properties \u2013 Label functions \u2013 types \u2013 label substrate materials \u2013 legal requirements of labels\n<\/p>\n

PRIMARY PACKAGING MATERIAL\t9<\/strong>
\nGlass containers- introduction – selection of glass as packaging materials for the pharmaceutical products – properties of glass – production of glass – types of glass – test for glass containers advantages and disadvantages of glass containers. Metals containers- aluminium – aluminium foil -collapsible tubes and stainless steel. Polymers -and plastics- introduction to plastics – raw materials of plastics – types of plastics – resin identification code – plastics and packaging and testing of plastic containers.\n<\/p>\n

LIQUID FORMULATION AND STERILE PRODUCT PACKAGING\t9<\/strong>
\nLiquid Formulation – Factors influencing selection of liquid filling machinery – balanced and unbalanced constant level filling \u2013 volumetric \u2013 gravimetric – level sensing – time fill – peristaltic and overflow liquid filling machinery. Sterile product packaging- various types of containers used for sterile products like ampoules \u2013 vials – bottles for I.V. fluid, etc. Types of closures used for the sterile products. Sterile product filling and sealing machinery i.e. ampoule filling and sealing machine.\n<\/p>\n

QUALITYCONTROL AND REGULATIONS OF PACKAGING MATERIALS\t9
\nSpecifications\u2013quality control tests\u2013methods and evaluation of packaging of materials\u2013 stability of packaging materials\u2013law and regulations governing packaging.\n<\/p>\n
