The detailed syllabus of heat and mass transfer operations laboratory is as follows. <\/p>\n<p><h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To provide basic understanding of chemical engineering principles and operations<\/li>\n<li>To train the students to work on different types of Heat transfer equipment.<\/li>\n<li>To train the students to develop sound working knowledge on different types of mass transfer equipment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h4>List of Experiments:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>To determine the Thermal Conductivity of metal rod.<\/li>\n<li>To determine individual heat transfer film coefficient in forced convection.<\/li>\n<li>Heat transfer studies in Stefan &#8211; Boltzmann apparatus.<\/li>\n<li>To determine overall heat transfer coefficient of double pipe heat exchanger by parallel flow.<\/li>\n<li>To determine overall heat transfer coefficient of double pipe heat exchanger by counter flow.<\/li>\n<li>To determine overall heat transfer coefficient of shell and tube heat exchanger.<\/li>\n<li>Determination of diffusivity of acetone in air<\/li>\n<li>Determination of mass transfer coefficient for steady state surface evaporation of water at different temperature.<\/li>\n<li>Conduction of liquid &#8211; liquid extraction studies<\/li>\n<li>Conduction of Adsorption studies<\/li>\n<li>Separation of binary mixture using Simple distillation<\/li>\n<li>Separation of binary mixture using Steam distillation<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<p>Students would be able to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Determine heat transfer coefficient.<\/li>\n<li>Apprehend the conduction parameters.<\/li>\n<li>Determine heat transfer film coefficient.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate the separation of Binary mixtures<\/li>\n<li>Determine diffusivity and Drying characteristics<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate distillation, extraction, diffusivity and drying principles which are having wide applications in various industries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h4>Reference Books:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Yunus A.
