The detailed syllabus of immunology laboratory is as follows. <\/p>\n<p><h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To give practical training in the functioning of immune system.<\/li>\n<li>To give laboratory training in different immunological and immunotechnological techniques.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h4>Experiments<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Animal Handling &#8211; Immunization &#8211; Bleeding techniques by Virtual methods<\/li>\n<li>Identification of immune cells in a blood smear and Identification of blood group<\/li>\n<li>Isolation of serum and plasma<\/li>\n<li>Testing for typhoid antigens by Widal test<\/li>\n<li>Immunodiffusion &#8211; SRID and Ouchterlony Double Diffusion<\/li>\n<li>Immunoelectrophoresis &#8211; Classical, Counter Current and Rocket immunoelectrophoresis<\/li>\n<li>Enzyme Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay (ELISA) &#8211; Types<\/li>\n<li>Isolation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells<\/li>\n<li>Isolation of monocytes from blood<\/li>\n<li>Lymphocyte migration assay<\/li>\n<li>Plaque forming cell assay<\/li>\n<li>Identification of T cells by T-cell rossetting using sheep RBC.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><h4>Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>The students would be aware of immune system cells and tissues.<\/li>\n<li>The students would have knowledge on immunological \/clinical tests.<\/li>\n<li>The students would be able to isolate lymphocytes and monocytes.<\/li>\n<li>The students would be able to identify various immune system cells.<\/li>\n<li>The students would become familiar with the techniques involved in antigen-antibody reaction<\/li>\n<li>The students will be able to identify the cellular and molecular basis of immune responsiveness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h4>Reference Books:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Roitt I, Male, Brostoff.
