Implementation of Classical Laminate Theory (CLT) to study and analysis for residual stresses in an isotropic layered structure such as electronic chips.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>UNIT I : INTRODUCTION, LAMINA CONSTITUTIVE EQUATIONS &amp; MANUFACTURING<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 [12 hours]<\/p>\n<p>Definition \u2013Need \u2013 General Characteristics, Applications. Fibers \u2013 Glass, Carbon, Ceramic and Aramid fibers. Matrices \u2013 Polymer, Graphite, Ceramic and Metal Matrices \u2013 Characteristics of fibers and matrices. Lamina Constitutive Equations: Lamina Assumptions \u2013 Macroscopic Viewpoint. Generalized Hooke\u201fs Law. Reduction to Homogeneous Orthotropic Lamina \u2013 Isotropic limit case, Orthotropic Stiffness matrix (Qij), Typical Commercial material properties, Rule of Mixtures. Generally\u00a0Orthotropic Lamina \u2013Transformation Matrix, Transformed Stiffness. Evaluation of Lamina Properties from Laminate Tests. Quasi-Isotropic Laminates.
