The detailed syllabus of computer aided simulation and analysis laboratory is as follows. <\/p>\n<p><h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<p>The main learning objective of this course is to provide hands on training to the students in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Analyzing the force, stress, deflection in mechanical components.<\/li>\n<li>Analyzing thermal stress heat transfer and vibration in mechanical components.<\/li>\n<li>Solving complex problems in the field of fluid flow and heat transfer<\/li>\n<li>Formulate the design problems into CFD\/FEA.<\/li>\n<li>Applying computational fluid dynamics and to teach them how to solve a fluid flow problem using commercially available CFD software<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h4>List of Experiments:<\/h4>\n<\/p>\n<p><i>SIMULATION<\/i><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>MATLAB basics, Dealing with matrices, Graphing-Functions of one variable and two variables<\/li>\n<li>Use of Matlab to solve simple problems in vibration Mechanism Simulation using software<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><i>ANALYSIS<\/i>\n<\/p>\n<p><i>FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS (FEA):<\/i><br \/>\nIntroduction to FEA &amp; its need in the industry &#8211; Mathematical Formulation of FEM- 1D and 2 D field problems &#8211; Isoperimetric Formulation- FEA Applications in: Stress analysis-Vibration analysis- Heat transfer analysis.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Geometric Creation<\/li>\n<li>Force and Stress analysis using link elements in Trusses, cables etc.<\/li>\n<li>Stress and deflection analysis in beams with different support conditions.<\/li>\n<li>Stress analysis of flat plates and simple shells.<\/li>\n<li>Stress analysis of axi &#8211; symmetric components.<\/li>\n<li>Thermal stress and heat transfer analysis of plates.<\/li>\n<li>Thermal stress analysis of cylindrical shells.<\/li>\n<li>Vibration analysis of spring-mass systems.<\/li>\n<li>Model analysis of Beams.<\/li>\n<li>Harmonic, transient and spectrum analysis of simple systems.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><i>FINITE ELEMENT METHOD (FEM):<\/i><br \/>\nIntroduction to FEM &amp; its need in the industry- Governing Equations in CFD- Discretisation: Finite Difference method- Finite volume method- Finite element method- Different Turbulence model studies- Grid generation methods- Application in: Laminar &amp;
