VISUAL AND AUDITORY ERGONOMICS
\nProcess of seeing – visual capabilities – factors affecting visual acuity and contrast sensitivity -human factor aspects of hard copy text and computer screen text, factors in selecting graphic representations symbols, qualitative visual display – process of hearing – principles of auditory display. Measures for monitoring control & mitigation.\n<\/p>\n

Unit II<\/h4>\n

MUSCLE PHYSIOLOGY
\nMuscle physiology – muscle metabolism – respiratory response – joint motion study – measure of physiological in-efficiency and energy consumption – work rest cycles – aspects of manual and posture study, material handling (MMH) Bio-mechanical recommended limits of MMH.\n<\/p>\n

ANTHROPOMETRY
\nAnthropometry – anthropometric design principles – Physical work load and energy expenditure -work space envelope – factors in design of work space surfaces – principles of seat design -principles of control panel. ergonomic implications. Organization classification of human errors theories of accident causation-reducing accidents by altering behavior.\n<\/p>\n

Unit V<\/h4>\n

CASE STUDIES
\nCase Study 1: computer design, control panel design of an electronic instrument, computer key board, hand drill etc.
\nCase Study 2: Biomedical Application, Design optimization of Medical Equipment.\n<\/p>\n
