The detailed syllabus of process control and instrumentation laboratory is as follows. <\/p>\n<p><h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<p>To impart theoretical and practical skills in<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tuning of PID controller and PID Enhancements.<\/li>\n<li>Design and Implementation of Cascade, Feed-forward Control Schemes and advanced Control schemes using the facilities available in the Process Control lab<\/li>\n<li>To make the students aware about calibration of meter, sensors and transmitters<\/li>\n<li>To make the students conscious about the working and operation of different types of analytical sensors.<\/li>\n<li>To use research-based knowledge and research methods for interpretation of data from sensors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h4><H4>List of Experiments:<\/H4><\/h4>\n<\/p>\n<p><i>Process Control<\/i><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Design and implementation of Interacting and non-interacting system<\/li>\n<li>Design and implementation of ON-OFF controller for the Temperature Process<\/li>\n<li>Determination of characteristics of a Pneumatically Actuated Control valve (with and without Positioner)<\/li>\n<li>Control of Level and Pressure using Process Control Training Plant.<\/li>\n<li>Control of flow process using industrial type PID controller.<\/li>\n<li>Tuning of PID Controller for mathematically described processes<\/li>\n<li>Design and Implementation of Feed forward and Cascade control schemes on the simulated model of a Typical Industrial Process.<\/li>\n<p>(i) Analysis of MIMO system (ii) Design and implementation of Multi-loop PID schemes on the simulated model of a Typical Industrial Process.<br \/>\n(iii) Interpretation of P &amp; ID (ISA S5.1)\n<\/ol>\n<\/p>\n<p><i> Instrumentation<\/i><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>(i) Measurement of humidity and viscosity Design and testing of Electromagnetic flow meters.<\/li>\n<li>(i) Measurement of speed, torque and vibration. (ii)Calibration of ammeter, voltmeter and wattmeter using multifunction calibrator<\/li>\n<li>(i) Calibration of pressure gauge using dead weight tester.(ii) Estimation of discharge coefficient of an Orifice plate<\/li>\n<li>(i) Measurement of Absorbance and Transmittance of Test solutions using UV (ii) Visible Spectrometer. Measurement of Conductivity and pH of Test solutions<\/li>\n<li>(i) Interfacing different types of flow meters with PC. (ii) Configuration of flow Transmitter<\/li>\n<li>(i) Measurement and analysis of ECG and pulse rate. (ii) Assessment of electrical safety of devices.<\/li>\n<p>Minimum of twelve experiments to be offered from the list.
