The detailed syllabus of engineering practices laboratory is as follows. <\/p>\n<p>  <title>Engineering Practices Laboratory<\/title><\/p>\n<h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<p>  The main learning objective of this course is to provide hands on training to the students in:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Drawing pipe line plan; laying and connecting various pipe fittings used in common household plumbing work; Sawing; planing; making joints in wood materials used in commonhousehold wood work.<\/li>\n<li>Wiring various electrical joints in common household electrical wire work.<\/li>\n<li>Welding various joints in steel plates using arc welding work; Machining various simple processes like turning, drilling, tapping in parts; Assembling simple mechanical assembly of common household equipments; Making a tray out of metal sheet using sheet metal work.<\/li>\n<li>Soldering and testing simple electronic circuits; Assembling and testing simple electronic components on PCB.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Group-A (Civil &amp; Electrical)<\/h4>\n<p>  PART I CIVIL ENGINEERING PRACTICES 15<\/p>\n<p><i>Plumbing Work:<\/i>\n  <\/p>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Connecting various basic pipe fittings like valves, taps, coupling, unions, reducers,elbows and other components which are commonly used in household.<\/li>\n<li>Preparing plumbing line sketches.<\/li>\n<li>Laying pipe connection to the suction side of a pump<\/li>\n<li>Laying pipe connection to the delivery side of a pump.<\/li>\n<li>Connecting pipes of different materials: Metal, plastic and flexible pipes used inhousehold appliances.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><i>Wood Work:<\/i>\n  <\/p>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Sawing,<\/li>\n<li>Planing and<\/li>\n<li>Making joints like T-Joint, Mortise joint and Tenon joint and Dovetail joint.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><i>Wood Work Study:<\/i>\n  <\/p>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Studying joints in door panels and wooden furniture<\/li>\n<li>Studying common industrial trusses using models.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>  PART II ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING PRACTICES 15<\/p>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Introduction to switches, fuses, indicators and lamps &#8211; Basic switch board wiring with lamp, fan and three pin socket<\/li>\n<li>Staircase wiring<\/li>\n<li>Fluorescent Lamp wiring with introduction to CFL and LED types.<\/li>\n<li>Energy meter wiring and related calculations\/ calibration<\/li>\n<li>Study of Iron Box wiring and assembly<\/li>\n<li>Study of Fan Regulator (Resistor type and Electronic type using Diac\/Triac\/quadrac)<\/li>\n<li>Study of emergency lamp wiring\/Water heater<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Group-B (Mechanical and Electronics)<\/h4>\n<p>  PART III MECHANICAL ENGINEERING PRACTICES 15<\/p>\n<p><i>Welding Work:<\/i>\n  <\/p>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Welding of Butt Joints, Lap Joints, and Tee Joints using arc welding.<\/li>\n<li>Practicing gas welding.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><i>Basic Machining Work:<\/i>\n  <\/p>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>(simple)Turning.<\/li>\n<li>(simple)Drilling.<\/li>\n<li>(simple)Tapping.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><i>Assembly Work:<\/i>\n  <\/p>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Assembling a centrifugal pump.<\/li>\n<li>Assembling a household mixer.<\/li>\n<li>Assembling an airconditioner.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><i>Sheet Metal Work:<\/i>\n  <\/p>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Making of a square tray<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><i>Foundry Work:<\/i>\n  <\/p>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Demonstrating basic foundry operations.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>  PART IV ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING PRACTICES 15<\/p>\n<p><i>Soldering Work:<\/i>\n  <\/p>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Soldering simple electronic circuits and checking continuity.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><i>Electronic Assembly and Testing Work:<\/i>\n  <\/p>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Assembling and testing electronic components on a small PCB.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><i>Electronic Equipment Study:<\/i>\n  <\/p>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Study an elements of smart phone..<\/li>\n<li>Assembly and dismantle of LED TV.<\/li>\n<li>Assembly and dismantle of computer\/ laptop<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<p>  Upon completion of this course, the students will be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Draw pipe line plan;
