The detailed syllabus of database management systems laboratory is as follows. <\/p>\n<p>  <title>Database Management Systems Laboratory<\/title><\/p>\n<h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To learn and implement important commands in SQL.<\/li>\n<li>To learn the usage of nested and joint queries.<\/li>\n<li>To understand functions, procedures and procedural extensions of databases.<\/li>\n<li>To understand design and implementation of typical database applications.<\/li>\n<li>To be familiar with the use of a front end tool for GUI based application development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>List of Experiments:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Create a database table, add constraints (primary key, unique, check, Not null), insert rows, update and delete rows using SQL DDL and DML commands.<\/li>\n<li>Create a set of tables, add foreign key constraints and incorporate referential integrity.<\/li>\n<li>Query the database tables using different where clause conditions and also implement aggregate functions.<\/li>\n<li>Query the database tables and explore sub queries and simple join operations.<\/li>\n<li>Query the database tables and explore natural, equi and outer joins.<\/li>\n<li>Write user defined functions and stored procedures in SQL.<\/li>\n<li>Execute complex transactions and realize DCL and TCL commands.<\/li>\n<li>Write SQL Triggers for insert, delete, and update operations in a database table.<\/li>\n<li>Create View and index for database tables with a large number of records.<\/li>\n<li>Create an XML database and validate it using XML schema.<\/li>\n<li>Create Document, column and graph based data using NOSQL database tools.<\/li>\n<li>Develop a simple GUI based database application and incorporate all the above-mentioned features<\/li>\n<li>Case Study using any of the real life database applications from the following list\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Inventory Management for a EMart Grocery Shop<\/li>\n<li>Society Financial Management<\/li>\n<li>Cop Friendly App &#8211; Eseva<\/li>\n<li>Property Management &#8211; eMall<\/li>\n<li>Star Small and Medium Banking and Finance\n<ul>\n<li>Build Entity Model diagram.
