Surveying Laboratory I<\/title><\/p>\n<h4>Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To familiarize with the various surveying instruments and methods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Excercises:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Chain traversing<\/li>\n<li>Compass traversing<\/li>\n<li>Centre line marking of a building<\/li>\n<li>Planimetric Mapping of an Area using Plane Table Surveying (Radiation, Intersection)<\/li>\n<li>Map updation using Plane Table Surveying through Resection (Graphical Method)<\/li>\n<li>Plane table surveying – Two point problem<\/li>\n<li>Fly and Check Levelling using dumpy level \/ tilting level<\/li>\n<li>Determination of horizontal and vertical angles using theodolite<\/li>\n<li>Determination of tacheometric constants using horizontal and inclined line of sight<\/li>\n<li>Single plane method using theodolite<\/li>\n<li>Double plane method using theodolite<\/li>\n<li>Determination of RL of a point on sloping terrain using tacheometric surveying<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of Planimetric Map using stadia tacheometry<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Course Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<p> On completion of the course, the student is expected to<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Gain knowledge on the usage of basic surveying instruments like chain\/tape, compass, plane table and leveling instruments<\/li>\n<li>Use levelling instrument for surveying operations<\/li>\n<li>Use theodolite for various surveying operations<\/li>\n<li>Carry out the necessary surveys for social infrastructures<\/li>\n<li>Prepare the planimetric maps<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Reference Books:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>T.
