This gives the details about credits, number of hours and other details along with reference books for the course.<\/p>\n<p>The detailed syllabus for Quality Evaluation of Fibres and Yarns B.Tech (R13) fifthsem is as follows<\/p>\n<p><strong>OBJECTIVE:<\/strong><br \/>\nTo make the students understand the principle and method of working of equipments used for testing of fibres and yarns<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNIT I : INTRODUCTION<\/strong> \u00a0 \u00a0 [5 Hours]<br \/>\nDefinition of quality- importance of quality assessment- selection of samples for quality assessment \u2013 random and biased samples \u2013 squaring technique and zoning technique for fibre selection; yarn sampling &#8211; use of random numbers &#8211; sampling for various types of yarn tests.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNIT II : FIBRE LENGTH AND STRENGTH ANALYSIS<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0 [9 Hours]<br \/>\nFibre testing, the fibre quality index and spinnablity; Fibre length and length uniformity measuring techniques. Strength Tensile Testing modes \u2013 CRT, CRE, CRL and ARL; Fibre strength, importance, relation to yarn strength; Measurement techniques.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNIT III : FIBRE FINENESS, MATURITY AND TRASH ANALYSIS<\/strong> \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 [9 Hours]<br \/>\nFibre fineness \u2013 definition-comparison of various fibres \u2013 its importance in yarn manufacture; measurement techniques. Cotton fibre maturity, estimation by microscopic method &#8211; maturity ratio and index, estimation by other methods \u2013 optical, air flow differential dyeing; its importance in spinning. Fibre trash \u2013 influence on quality; measurement \u2013 principle and estimation microdust estimation for rotor spinning.
