\nTypes of Microorganism: Structure and function of microbial cells. Fundamentals of microbial growth, batch and continuous culture. Isolation and purification of enzymes from cells. Cell and Enzyme Immobilization.<\/p>\n
\nFermentation \u2013 Types of mechanisms, Continuous fermentation \u2013 aeration and agitation, kinetics of fermentation \u2013 Processes<\/p>\n
\nIntroduction of Bioreactor design: Continuously stirred aerated tank bioreactors. Mixing power correlation. Determination of volumetric mass transfer rate of oxygen from air bubbles and effect of mechanical mixing and aeration on oxygen transfer rate, heat transfer and power.<\/p>\n
