Engine Testing and Emission Measurement Laboratory<\/title><\/p>\n<h4>Course Objective:<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n The main objective of this course is to<\/p>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Impart knowledge in automotive Emission measurement and methods of testing engines.<\/li>\n<li>The detailed measuring techniques of pollutants like UBHC, CO, NOx, CO2 and smoke for both SI and CI engines will be taught and compared with the emission standards.<\/li>\n<li>The knowledge about the instruments used for measurement of pollutants, engine performance and combustion parameters are to be explained with live example.<\/li>\n<li>At the end of the course the students will have knowledge about methods to test the engine and emission.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>List of Experiments:<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<ol>\n<li>Study and use of IC engine testing Dynamometers.<\/li>\n<li>Study and use of Pressure pickups, charge amplifier, storage oscilloscope and signal analyzers used for IC engine testing.<\/li>\n<li>Performance study on petrol engine.<\/li>\n<li>Performance study on diesel engine.<\/li>\n<li>Determine the Frictional power on petrol engines.<\/li>\n<li>Heat balance test on an automotive diesel engine.<\/li>\n<li>Study of NDIR Gas Analyzer and FID.<\/li>\n<li>Study of Chemiluminescent NOx analyser.<\/li>\n<li>Measurement of HC, CO,<\/li>\n<li>, O2 and NOx using exhaust gas analyzer.<\/li>\n<li>Diesel smoke measurement.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Course Outcome:<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n By the end of this course, students will be able to<\/p>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Understand the various emission measuring instruments<\/li>\n<li>Understand the various engine testing instruments<\/li>\n<li>Understand the procedure to measure the
