The detailed syllabus of process control and instrumentation laboratory is as follows. <\/p>\n<p>  <title>Process Control and Instrumentation Laboratory<\/title><\/p>\n<h4>Course Objective:<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<ul>\n<li>To impart theoretical and practical skills in<\/li>\n<li>Process Identification<\/li>\n<li>T uning of PID controller and PID Enhancements.<\/li>\n<li>Design and Implementation of Cascade, Feed-forward Control Schemes and advanced Control schemes using the facilities available in the Process Control lab.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Process Control:<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<ol>\n<li>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Study of a Process Control Training plant.<\/li>\n<li>Determination of characteristics of a Pneumatically Actuated Control valve (with and without Positioner).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Design and implementation of ON-OFF controller for the Temperature Process.<\/li>\n<li>Design and Implementation of split range control for a level process.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Design and Implementation of Practical Forms of PID Controller on the simulated model of a Typical Industrial Process.<\/li>\n<li>Design and Implementation of Feed forward and Cascade control schemes on the simulated model of a Typical Industrial Process<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Analysis of MIMO system.<\/li>\n<li>Design and implementation of Multi-loop PID schemes on the simulated model of a Typical Industrial Process.<\/li>\n<li>Interpretation of P and ID (ISA S5.1)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Cascade Control of Level and flow process using industrial type PID controller.<\/li>\n<li>PC based control of level process.<\/li>\n<li>On-line monitoring and control of a pilot plant using an industrial type distributed control system.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Design and implementation of advanced control scheme (adaptive controller or model predictive Control scheme) on the skid mounted pilot plant.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Instrumentation<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<ol>\n<li>Estimation of discharge coefficient of an Orifice plate( With and without U bend in the pipeline)<\/li>\n<li>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Interfacing different types of flow meters with PC.<\/li>\n<li>Configuration of flow Transmitter.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Measurement of humidity and viscosity<\/li>\n<li>Design and testing of Electromagnetic flow meters.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Determining the stoichiometric ratio of air fuel mixture in the combustion chamber.<\/li>\n<li>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Measurement of Absorbance and Transmittance of Test solutions using UV-Visible Spectrometer.<\/li>\n<li>Measurement of Conductivity and pH of Test solutions<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Monitoring Physiological Parameters using Vital signs monitor.<\/li>\n<li>Assessment of electrical safety of devices using electrical safety analyzer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Course Outcome:<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<ol>\n<li>Ability to work and measure parameter of flow\/ level \/ temperature \/ pressure from SKID mounted pilot plant.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to analyze, design suitable control schemes for industrial type process.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to design ON-OFF, feed forward, cascade and multiloop PID controllers for the typical industrial process.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to use appropriate software tools for design, analysis and implementation of control scheme.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to experimentally measure industrial process parameters (such as flow, viscosity and humidity) and physiological parameters of the human body.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to configure and interface different field devices with PC.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to select, design, install and operate field devices for measurement of flow, temperature and pressure through a typical industrial case study(combustion process).<\/li>\n<li>Ability to experimentally verify electrical safety of an instrument.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate efficiently the engineering facts and function actively and efficiently as an individual or a member\/leader of different teams and multidisciplinary projects.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p align=\"justify\">For detailed syllabus of all other subjects of Electronics &amp;
