The detailed syllabus of control and instrumentation laboratory is as follows. <\/p>\n<p>  <title>Control and Instrumentation Laboratory<\/title><\/p>\n<h4>Course Objective:<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<ul>\n<li>To make the students understand the concepts of control.<\/li>\n<li>To make them use modern tools to simulate and understand the dynamic behavior of physical systems.<\/li>\n<li>To make them familiar with conducting experiments on real time set up.<\/li>\n<li>To make the students understand the working and operation of different types of measuring instruments.<\/li>\n<li>To make the students understand the compensation techniques<\/li>\n<li>To make students gain knowledge on calibration and uncertainty estimation of measuring instruments.<\/li>\n<li>To provide practical knowledge in interfacing transmitters with PC.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>List of Experiments:<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<p><i>Control:<\/i>\n  <\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Determination of time and frequency responses of a LTI system. (Mechanical, Electrical, Electromehanical and Hydraulic system)<\/li>\n<li>Design, Analysis and implementation of lag and lead compensators using Bode and Root locus for a physical system.<\/li>\n<li>Design, Analysis and implementation of lag-lead compensator using Bode and Root locus for a physical system.<\/li>\n<li>Design and implementation of feedback control scheme for an open loop stable system.<\/li>\n<li>Design and implementation of controller for an open loop unstable system.<\/li>\n<li>Design and implementation of state feedback control scheme for a MIMO system.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><i>Instrumentation:<\/i>\n  <\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Configuration and Calibration of temperature transmitter using temperature calibrator.<\/li>\n<li>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Measurement of temperature using IR thermometer.<\/li>\n<li>Calibration of IR thermometer.<\/li>\n<li>Study of thermal image camera.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Measurement of torque, speed and density.<\/li>\n<li>Calibration of ammeter, voltmeter and wattmeter using multi-function calibrator.<\/li>\n<li>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Testing of pressure gauge using dead-weight tester<\/li>\n<li>Configuration and calibration of Pressure Transmitter<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Level measurement using differential pressure transmitter including elevation considerations<\/li>\n<li>PC interface with level transmitter<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Course Outcome:<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<ol>\n<li>Ability to determine the time response and frequency response of given systems such as mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems using suitable tools.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to design, realize and validate lag \/ lead \/ lag-lead compensators for a given single input and single output system.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to analyze and design control scheme for an open loop unstable system and MIMO system.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to determine the static and dynamic characteristics of torque, speed, density and level measuring instruments.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to quantify uncertainty associated with measuring instruments.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to interface field instruments with PC using DAQ cards.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to configure smart transmitters using HART communicator.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate efficiently the engineering facts and function actively and efficiently as an individual or a member\/leader of different teams and multidisciplinary projects.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p align=\"justify\">For detailed syllabus of all other subjects of Electronics &amp;
