This gives the details about credits, number of hours and other details along with reference books for the course.<\/p>\n<p>The detailed syllabus for Automotive Aerodynamics B.Tech (R13) seventhsem is as follows<\/p>\n<p><strong>OBJECTIVES :<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the end of the course, the students will be able to apply basic principles of aerodynamics for the design of vehicle body.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNIT I : INTRODUCTION \u00a0<\/strong> \u00a0 [9 hours]<br \/>\nScope, historical developments, fundamental of fluid mechanics, flow phenomenon related to vehicles, external and internal flow problem, resistance to vehicle motion, performance, fuel consumption and performance potential of vehicle aerodynamics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNIT II : AERODYNAMIC DRAG OF CARS<\/strong> \u00a0 \u00a0[9 hours]<br \/>\nCars as a bluff body, flow field around car, drag force, types of drag force, analysis of aerodynamic drag, drag coefficient of cars, strategies for aerodynamic development, low drag profiles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNIT III: \u00a0SHAPE OPTIMIZATION OF CARS \u00a0<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0[9 hours]<br \/>\nFront end modification, front and rear wind shield angle, boat tailing, hatch back, fast back and square back, dust flow patterns at the rear, effects of gap configuration, effect of fasteners.
