Punjab Technical University (PTU) invites application for admission to M.Tech in 2011 in various government and private institutions in the state of Punjab. The Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar has been authorized as the authority competent to make admission to Post Graduate level M. Tech. courses being run the institutes located in the State of Punjab on the basis of (GATE- 2011) for the session 2011 – 2012.
Eligibility for admission:
All those candidate who have passed B. Tech. with at least 55% marks in aggregate, preference with valid GATE -2011 score shall be eligible.
85% seats will be reserved for the candidates from within the state and 15% will be open to all candidates from outside the State which of course will be inter-convertible in case the seats remain vacant in internal or outside category.
Admission Procedure:
GATE Scores shall be considered as merit. Vacant seats shall be filled based on the inter-sem-merit of qualifying examination. Please refer to admission brochure for other details on official website.
Application Fee: Rs. 3000/-(non-refundable) is to be deposited in branches of bank listed on the website.

yes it’s true that ptu is taking only gate qualified student and providing 8000/ month gate scholarship.if there is any gate qualified student contact them.i m also gate qualified and waiting for merit list to be displayed on 16 aug.contact them.
now all most all mtech admission is over for gate candidate.if any body interested in admission in ptu affiliated college ,after third counselling vacant set will be filled by btech %.

This is gagan,the news is about ptu,whose last date for online registration is mentioned as 13.07.2011 but actual it is 10.08.2011.
They have extended the last date because they are taking only gate qualified students and there are not much gate students in punjab.From 10.08.2011 ,3rd round of counseling will start and this time it is open for all india .(No state based reservation).Gate qualified students will get scholarship 8000pm.So it is better than joining private universities.
