Eligibility: Master’s degree in Mathematics/Statistics/ Physics/ Electronic Sciences/ Computer Science/Computer Applications/Information Technology or, (ii) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or any other qualification considered equivalent (such as AMIE or, GRAD-IETE or, DOEACC ‘B’ Level). Stipend Rs. 5000/- per month.
A candidate with a valid GATE score above a threshold (to be decided by the Selection Committee) in his/her own subject would be directly called for interview. However, such candidates are required to apply in the prescribed application form.
M.Tech. in Quality, Reliability and Operations Research
Eligibility: Master’s degree in Statistics or Master’s degree in Mathematics with Probability and Statistics as major subjects or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent or PG diploma in SQC & OR from the Indian Statistical Institute and (ii) Knowledge of Mathematics at graduate level and knowledge of Physics and Chemistry at Higher Secondary level. Stipend Rs. 5000/- per month. (Offered at Kolkata).

I was preparing for GATE 2010 but failed to write the same as I am presently in the IT sector. But I wish to write it next year and I believe that I’ll need serious preparation considering the fact that my job demands serious attention too. I wanted to know whether to get into ISI for M.Tech in CS will the GATE score suffice or will I have to write an additional test? I am also looking forward to MS as an alternative abroad but I am absolutely clueless about where to start from. The collge websites I visited do not provide absolutely fruitful information. Moreover the fee is sky-touching. Aren’t there any scholarships by GOI or anything apart that?

Paikhit: please the M.Tech admission requirements for ISI Kolkata. GATE score have definite weight. But they also consider their test.
