Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur invites applications for admission to various departments for M.Tech. The departments are Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural and Food Engineering, Architecture and Regional Planning, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Cryogenic Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Educational Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Geology and Geophysics, Industrial Engineering and Management, Information Technology, RCG School of Infrastructure Design and Management , Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Medical Science & Technology, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Mining Engineering, Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture, Ocean, Rivers, Atmosphere & Land Sciences, Physics and Meteorology, Rubber Technology, Reliability Engineering, and School of Water Resources. Every department has several specializations. Please visit the below official link for more details.

Selection Procedure: Selection is based on performance in GATE and Personal Interview of short-listed candidates. Marks obtained in GATE and in personal interview will have 70% and 30% weightage respectively. Personal interview will be held to test the following: (a) Motivation and aptitude for the programme (b) Oral communication skills (c) Skills in basic science, engineering, and relevant areas.

Personal interviews will be conducted at the following centers: Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Kharagpur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, and Visakhapatnam

Applicants with professional qualifications or with XE/XL paper in GATE and short-listed sponsored candidates need to qualify through personal interviews and/or test at IIT Kharagpur only.

Website Closure for submission of online Application Form: 21 April 2010 (Wednesday)
Last date for receipt of completed Application Form at the GATE office by post: 27 April 2010 (Tuesday)
