IIT Gandhinagar M.Tech Admissions 2011

IIT Gandhinagar invites applications to M.Tech programmes in Chemical, and Civil Engineering for the year 2011-2012. As other IITs there is no information about number seat available for each course. As IIT Gandhinagar is a newly establish IIT there could be question about New IIT of old NITs, to look at my stand to join B.Tech in new IITs please refer to New IITs or old NITs. On the same time I have a different stand for M.Tech admissions. I am going to write about it soon.

Eligibility Conditions:
1. Minimum of 55% marks / 5.5 (on a 10 point scale) in B.E. /B.Tech or equivalent in appropriate branches (50% marks for SC /ST)
2. Candidates who are GATE qualified are eligible to apply for M.Tech. programmes.
3. B.Tech graduates from the IITs with CGPA score of 8.0 or above (on scale of 10) would be eligible to admission without having to appear in GATE.

Admission Procedure:
Admission is offered on the basis of a written test and an interview. All candidates called for the written test and interview will be paid to and fro single second-sleeper class railway fare by the shortest route from their place of residence to the Institute / venue of the Test / Interview. They have to produce evidence (railway ticket) in support of their claim.
