IIT Bombay M.Tech Admissions 2011

Indian Institute of Technology Bombay invites applications for admission to various departments for M.Tech. All department and categorywise IIT Bombay GATE cutoffs are available at  IIT Bombay M.Tech Cutoffs.

The departments are Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Earth Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing and Modeling (MMM)-(Industry Sponsored), Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering & Materials Science, Center of Studies in Resources Engineering, Department of Biosciences & Bioengineering, Corrosion Science & Engineering (Under Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science Department), Energy Science & Engineering, Industrial Engineering & Operations Research, Systems & Control Engineering, Environmental Science & Engineering, Centre For Technology Alternatives For Rural Areas(CTARA) (Technology And Development). Eligibility: GENERAL ELIGIBILITY FOR M.TECH PROGRAMMES IN ALL DEPARTMENTS/ CENTRES/SCHOOLS/ID GROUPS.

A) Candidates with FIRST class or 60% marks in B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc. (Engg.) / M.Sc. / MCA / MBBS / M.Pharm./B.Pharm (4 yr. degree)/BDS (4 yr. degree) or
equivalent in appropriate branches (55% marks for SC / ST) and a high GATE score are eligible to apply for various M.Tech. programmes as shown in Appendix- C
( Table III) of M.Tech Information Brochure 2011~12.

The FIRST class (60% marks) in qualifying degree (55% marks for SC / ST) is essential general eligibility criteria. For candidates with an MBBS background, qualification
in MCI/PG¬Chandigarh/AIIMS/AFMC Pune/ post graduate entrance exam is required for BME M.Tech programme.
B) Candidates with Associate Membership Examinations (A.M.I.E, etc.)

Candidates who have passed the Associate Membership Examinations conducted by recognized professional bodies (like Institution of Engrs. (India), Institute of
Chemical Engrs., Aeronautical Society of India, Institute of Electronics & Telecommunication Engrs., Indian Institute of Metals etc., are also eligible to apply for the
appropriate M.Tech programmes, provided they fulfill the following requirements:

i. the above examinations are recognized as equivalent to B.E. / B.Tech Degree.
ii. Candidates MUST have obtained a FIRST CLASS or 60% marks (55% marks for SC / ST candidates) in the above examinations.
iii. the candidates have a minimum of two years professional experience after passing the final examinations of his qualifying degree.
iv. candidates have a valid GATE score

Last date of issue of application forms: April 8, 2011 (online), 31 March, 2011 (offline)
Last date for receipt of completed application forms : 8 April 2011 (online) and March 31 2011 (offline)
Direct Admissions (AE,CL,CS,EE,ME,IE&OR,MMM) Admissions on the basis of only GATE score for TA/RA category (GN, SC,ST,OBC & PC candidates):
1st offer: April 15, 2011
2nd offer (except EE): April 22, 2011
To display the list for candidates called for Written Test/Interview (i.e. TA/ TAP/ RA/ PA/ PS/ IS/ SF/SW etc.) : 25 April 2010

    I got a gate rank of 170 (GATE-2013) rank in Geology and Geophysics. Is there any chance of getting admission into IITB (Geoexploration and Petroleum Geosciences).

    Hi, I have completed my B.E. degree. The problem is out of 8 semesters, I had a K.T. in one subject in 7th semester which I cleared in subsequent attempt.But my final year agg. including marks of that subject is 64.8%. So am I eligible for M.Tech Or not?

    plz give me some info about M.Des in various IITs.
    give me the link if available on this website, bcoz i couldn’t find it.
    I wish to know about approx gate rank, or marks to get admission in M.des in IIT-B or IIT-k.

    Cutoff Marks : GEN OBC SC/ST

    GATE 2010 – 25.00 NA 16.67

    GATE 2011 – 30.81 27.73 20.54

    GATE 2010 : Around 30 marks = Around 500 score. Paper NOT easy.

    GATE 2011 : Around 50 marks = Around 500 score . Paper is EASY.

    Hi..
    I’m doing my Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering final year now. I had given GATE last year and wish to apply for a PG.
    My scores are low. Gate Score: 328 and AIR 15219 out of 104291.
    I have qualified in SC category as I have 22.33 marks.

    I would like to know which all institutes can I apply for.
    Are there any chances of getting admission in IIT Powai?

    Please provide me with some better opportunities to start over again, as I haven’t done so well in my Graduation.

    rank in 2010 (versus) score in 2011

    iam on a big confusion..

    in 2010 i get good rank, but for that rank in 2011 scores are higher…

    in admission procedure whether insitutes will consider good gate score or good AIR?

    in gate 2010 my AIR is 3501 with score of 515
    but for this rank in gate 2011 scores are higher…

    iam feeling tensed… plz reply

    when 2 applicants came to a college with

    515 score air 3500 in gate2010
    530 score air 4000 in gate 2011

    who will be prefeered????????????????????????????????

    plz help me sir
