Departments offering Master of Engineering degree (ME): Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering , Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Computer Science & Automation, Electrical Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, few programs Jointly conducted by Electrical Communication Engg & the Centre for Electronics Design & Technology and Computer Science & Automation.
Departments offering admission to Master of Technology degrees (M.Tech): Centre for Electronics Design & Technology, Supercomputer Education & Research Centre, Centre for Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, Instrumentation, Civil Engineering.
Departments offering admission to Master of Design degrees: Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing.
Eligibility Criteria: The following categories of candidates are eligible to apply for admission to course programs.
(a) Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/Technology or its equivalent.
(b) Bachelor’s degree holders in Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science/Electronics/ followed by qualifications obtained through an examination conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE.
(c) Bachelor’s degree holders in Architecture/Design (for M Des program only)
(d) Master’s degree holders in Physics with Electronics/Instrumentation (for M Tech programs).
All the candidates should qualify in the GATE paper concerned in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) (for the M Des program) and possess valid score cards.
Eligibly for Master of Engineering (ME/M.Tech) (apart from general criteria): To be considered for admission to ME programs in various departments / centers, candidates with BE / B Tech or an equivalent degree must have a valid GATE score from the GATE paper which corresponds to their branch in the qualifying examination.
Eligibly for Master of Design Degree : For admission to the M Des program, candidates with eligible qualifications can also take the CEED examination.

I am an MCA student which is a great demerit for me ,because
all the NITs, so far, that have disclosed their notice for admission in Mtech course didn’t mention MCA as one of the eligibility criteria for their Mtech.
It’s a great disappointment that when the IITs and IISC recognise such a degree ,the NITs take the credit of such degree down by not allowing us into their Mtech course.
Since on May 2 the notice for Common Counselling of all the 6 NITs is coming,so i would request you to suggest what to do?
Should we bear such great discrimination in the field of Knowledge? or do raise our voice at the MHRD .If yes then i would request u to take a kind step by publishing such message on your site so that people should realise it’s importance and give their opinion to have a good solution.
Its a humble request to u because it is associated with the career of the MCA students

I came to know from your post that there is a written test for M.Tech course on 18th April,2011, but there is no test for M.E. course and selection is purely on GATE score.
