IIIT Bangalore M.Tech Admissions 2011

IIIT Bangalore is a public-private institution with great industry participation. Location is another advantage of this institute. As Bangalore is software hub, this institute has good industry interactions for placement and research and development work.

IIIT Bangalore invites applications for Master of Engineering Degree (MS and M.Tech) in Information Technology. This course is designed in accordance with the requirement of the industry. Courses offered: M.Tech in Information Technology and MS information Technology, the institute also offers an integrated degree for MS and PhD.

Eligibility: The minimum qualification for admission to any of the programs at iiit-b is a first-class four-year bachelor’s degree in engineering (i.e. B.E., B.Tech., or equivalent). First class degree holders in 3-year undergraduate programs followed by Masters Degree with first class in any of the physical sciences, or an MCA degree with first class, can also apply. Final-year students expecting to graduate by August 2010 may also apply. First class or equivalent is required in 10th and 12th (or equivalent) grades as well.

Selection procedure: Admission to the M.Tech. program is on the basis of prior academic performance (at the high school level and beyond), performance in the iiit-b’s online admissions test and an admission interview. Applicants with good scores in the GATE examination and GRE examination may be eligible for waiver of Entrance Examination.

Last date for receiving online applications with application fees: March 20, 2011

Last date for receiving offline applications with application fees: February 28, 2011

Exams & Interviews:

Notification of exam waiver for qualified GATE applicants: March 26, 2011

Exam Dates: Students are provided with two choices for taking the online admission test: Date 1: April 3, 2011 or Date 2: April 10, 2011

Selection interviews at IIIT-B campus: May 4-6, 2011

    i already hav job in huawei wit 5L package, its communication core.. so s it better to take up MTech??

    IIITB considers a consistent percentage right from 10th standard. So chances are low that u may be selected. But since u have 70+ in ur undergrad there are chances of being selected. But nothing can be said. I suggest u to apply and if u have a good GATE score then it would be an added advantage

    sir,
    i m 8th in b.tech (ECE) and presently till 6 sem i have 72% and 7 sem is awaited and completes my degree in june. but i hv 47% in 10std aand 51% in 12std, so may i apply in ur college..suggest me plz.

    I suggest students who only aspire to get a job in a software industry to apply here. Other things are not quite good here
