    ME paper will conducted in 4 sessions. does this mean paper with different questions of same difficulty level for each session?
    Till date i have been thinking that engineering and life sciences will be conducted in multiple sessions.

      Yes there will be 4 different papers for the 4 sessions. As in general sense it can concluded that the paper difficulty level will be same for all the 4 papers but in case there is weightage variation in any one 4 of the papers it will depend totally on the preparation of the student.

      Secondarily the occurrence of 4 different papers has confirmed one aspect that all the topics in the gate syllabus are now more important as compared to earlier. So please focus on all subjects equally and hope all the papers has same difficulty level and weightage variations.

      For more info read:https://www.inspirenignite.com/forums/topic/gate-subject-wise-weightage-for-both-sessions/

      @sougat
      just a random guess:

      as they have a certain pattern followed for setting the paper.. chances are that they have a number of questions in stock for each category. like.. x questions will be theoretical.. y questions will be needing conceptual logic.. z questions will be on basis of testing the students recalling capability of his basics.

      so irrespective of weightage of each subject.. the paper may be set based on equal difficulty level following same “pattern” for all the 4 sessions.

      anyways.. good luck
      -mech student too
