Electrical Engineering: Prospects, Future and Institutes in India

Student after 12th talking about engineering subjects looking to Engineering subject and for electrical engineering and think that it’s a kind advanced work of an electrician, who come home to repair our electric fans and lights. But in reality its entirely different from that and you will be learning whole lot of Electrical engineering techniques and related stuff in this course.

During first year of engineering electrical engineering students learn about Common engineering courses like Engineering mathematics, Physics, Engineering Drawing and fundamentals of computing. From second year they will start learning about Thermodynamics, introductory electronics, signal processing and instrumentation, signals, systems and electric networks, microelectronics, control systems, communication systems, power systems, electromagnetic systems, electrical machines, and power generation techniques. By the end of final year students can be well equipped with the understanding of working and application of electric systems and engineering.

There are equally good opportunities for jobs in electrical engineering industry and higher education. There is lot of multidisciplinary research for developing electric vehicles with great funding and scope all over there world. On the same time good opportunities back home in industry.

Core companies offer electrical engineering jobs: ABB, Bajaj International Private Ltd., Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Centre for Electronics Design and Technology, Crompton Greaves Limited (CGL), Siemens Ltd., Reliance power Ltd., and Wipro Lighting are name to few.

Average salary: 3.00 to 3.5 lakh Indian rupees

    Sir! Plz told me about IIT ROPAR. All details. It is better than old iits or even similar to older iits. Because i have alloted mech. Engg in IIT ROPAR.

    according to last year cutoffs i can get electrical in a good state college but i can also get computer science in another college but that college is not as good as compared to first one now i am confused which college to prefer can you help

    sir,
    I have passed out 10th exam and recently admitted in the govt college of polytechnic, for electrical engg. but i heard from my friends and some people that elecrical engg does not have scope like mechanical or any other branch.because of this I am becoming discouraged.
    so i kindly request you to give me right information as early as early as possible.
